Online Community Expectations

"delight in forming our Ideas & in communicating Intellectual Pleasure"
- Hannah Winthrop to Mercy Otis Warren, 23 June [1775]

The MHS social media pages are used as part of a strategy for sharing and enhancing MHS content while reaching and engaging existing and new audiences. We welcome your participation and ask you to follow our community standards as outlined below.

In order to create a positive and engaging environment for our community, we ask all users to treat each other with respect. Users may disagree with ideas in posted content or comments and healthy debate is encouraged. However, insults, threats, or harassment of other users, organizations, or employees are prohibited. Bullying, cursing, and degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

Self-promotion, spam, posts for political gain, and irrelevant links are not acceptable for the MHS’s social media channels.

Those violating our online community standards may have their comments removed or hidden. Repeat offenders will be blocked from posting.

We hope our social media accounts will provide the opportunity to connect and interact with other history lovers. Engage and have fun!
